IHG & Aldar Group To Convert Abu Dhabi’s Six Hotels Into A 1,389 Key Resort, Straylight Yas, Vignette Collection

Yas Island, the heart of Abu Dhabi’s buzzing tourism scene, is about to undergo a massive hotel makeover. IHG Hotels and Resorts is teaming up with UAE real estate giant Aldar to launch a major conversion project on Yas Island. The six existing hotels in Abu Dhabi are about to be refurbished and rebranded under the IHG’s premium Vignette Collection resort. Let’s just say, if you thought Yas Island was already cool, wait till you see what’s coming next!

Welcome To Straylight Yas: A New Era For Yas Island Hotels

The makeover magic will soon breathe new life into six familiar Yas Plaza hotels that are Crowne Plaza, Radisson Blu, Rotana, Centro, Park Inn, and Staybridge Suites. Once the dust has settled, these hotels will emerge as one sleek integrated property: Straylight Yas, Vignette Collection. Boasting 1,389 rooms, it will take the crown as the Vignette brand’s largest hotel yet.

What’s more? Expect some fabulous new features! There’s a private beach, courtesy of an underground tunnel (yes, you read that right), an F&B strip perfect for foodies, and direct access to Yas Links Abu Dhabi golf course. Let’s not forget the beach and golf villas, a chic beach club, and even an open-air theatre. If this isn’t a complete experience in one place, we don’t know what is.

And here’s the cherry on top, this incredible transformation is slated to be complete by the end of 2025. Just in time for your next dreamy getaway!

The Magic Isn’t Confined To Yas Island Alone

Aldar and IHG’s collaboration doesn’t stop with Yas Island. Over in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra region, the Tilal Liwa Hotel is also getting a Vignette-style upgrade. A soft opening is set for later this year, meaning it’s only a matter of time before Al Dhafra becomes the next must-visit spot on your travel list.

IHG’s Vignette Collection, which launched in 2021, is all about luxury with a personal touch. From Hotel X in Brisbane to The Halyard in Liverpool, this brand is quickly expanding. To reach 100 properties worldwide in the next ten years, we’re just at the beginning of the Vignette takeover.

With the Yas Plaza Hotels being transformed into Straylight Yas, Abu Dhabi’s tourism game is about to level up in a big way.
