India’s aspirations for high-speed transportation have advanced significantly, as evidenced by the recent video provided by the country’s Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on X, which shows the completion of a 410-metre Hyperloop test track at IIT Madras.
A Look At 410-Metre Hyperloop Test Track By IIT Madras
The Hyperloop was first tested at 100 km/h at IIT Madras’s Discovery Campus in Thaiyur. Future tests are expected to target speeds of around 600 km/h.
In partnership with Indian Railways, the Avishkar Hyperloop team from IIT Madras and TuTr Hyperloop, an institute startup, a test track is housed at IIT Madras’s Discovery Campus in Thaiyur.
In the post on X announcing India’s first 410-metre Hyperloop test track completion, the Union Railway Minister commended the team’s innovative skills and expressed optimism that India will soon be able to develop cutting-edge Hyperloop technology.
The goal of the Hyperloop team is to create and sell reliable, affordable, efficient, and sustainable hyperloop technologies for high-speed transportation, according to a statement. The Indian Ministry of Railways is an important partner in the development process at IIT Madras, as reported by The Free Press Journal.

In Chennai, Tamil Nadu, IIT Madras is a public technical university that is regarded as an Institute of National Importance and one of the eight public Institutes of Eminence of India. The Indian government founded the third Indian Institute of Technology in 1959 with the help of West Germany.

In order to provide high-speed, reasonably priced, dependable, and environmentally friendly transportation, the Hyperloop team wants to develop and market Hyperloop technologies.
