“I’m Glad I Could Save People From Falling For Scams,” Ankush Bahuguna On His Digital Arrest

Male makeup influencer Ankush Bahuguna is destiny’s child. The popular content creator started out as a writer at a lifestyle magazine and later delved into comedy writing and acting. In a new episode of Tere Gully Mein, he took us to his favourite haunts in his neighbourhood, Mayur Vihar Phase 1 in Delhi. During the chat, he revealed titbits about his journey as a content creator, his unfortunate encounter with online scamsters, and a subsequent digital arrest.

Ankush Bahuguna Shares How He Dealt With His Digital Arrest Aftermath

After refreshing glasses of Chiku Shake and Chocolate Shake at Lucky Juice & Shakes, we got talking on the aftermath of Ankush Bahuguna’s digital arrest. We were one of the few who had reposted Ankush’s story, as we were very close towards facing an online scam ourselves. The content creator said that he was glad to hear from his followers who were able to prevent falling for such online scams after watching his videos.

“It was good to know I wasn’t the only one who wasn’t aware of this(digital arrest). There were many others who didn’t know about this scam, too. I’m glad I could save some people from falling for it. More than the money aspect of it, such online scams mentally shake you.” He credited the “lovely” people around him for consoling and helping him get out of it. Ankush’s loved ones told him, “Don’t beat yourself over it. It wasn’t your fault.”

Therapy & Spending Time With Friends Helped

The content creator admitted to taking a break from his work post the awful scam. And revealed that he was still taking things slow. Taking therapy regularly and spending time with friends helped him to overcome the aftermath of the digital arrest. “That (therapy) really helps, as I have anxiety. I was already going for therapy, and I addressed this (digital arrest), and she(his therapist) told me a bunch of things on how to deal with things better.”

Ankush revealed that post falling for an online scam, he has become hyper vigilant. He thinks twice before picking calls from his own contacts. We’re glad Ankush Bahuguna is safe, and he courageously shared his own experience to warn his fans from falling for digital scams.
