In Delhi, the temperature has dropped significantly in places like Safdarjung and Ridge, reaching as low as 1°C. This is noticeable in cities like Delhi and the surrounding NCR region. As the temperature continues to drop, the next few days will bring with them a cold wave and dense fod, particularly starting on December 22, according to the Jagran reports. These conditions often create visibility problems and can disrupt daily life.

Himachal Pradesh’s hill stations in the north are preparing for bitter cold. An orange alert has been issued by the IMD for a number of districts, including Bilaspur, Una, Mandi, and Hamirpur. Cold temperatures and significant snowfall are predicted for the region. There has already been snowfall in places like Lahaul and Spiti, Kullu, and Chamba, Jagran reported. Lighter but still significant weather is predicted by the yellow alert in these areas.

The weather department recommends that residents, especially children and the elderly, avoid unnecessary travel during these days, as the snowfall and slippery roads could create hazardous conditions.

Meanwhile, in the southern parts of the country, the weather pattern is quite different. Tamil Nadu and Kerala are expecting heavy rainfall due to cyclonic activity in the Bay of Bengal. The intense rainfall will also affect travel and daily activities, especially in coastal regions.

Other parts of India are also experiencing their own share of weather changes. Temperatures in Haryana, the coldest of the northern plain states, have drastically decreased. Last week’s readings dropped to near-freezing levels in some Rajasthan cities. These areas have already experienced temperatures below 4°C, according to the Jagran reports.

Looking ahead, India is gearing up for some shifting weather patterns towards the end of December. Winter brings beauty, but it also presents its challenges. Stay informed with the latest weather reports to help you plan your day and stay safe in the changing conditions.
