IMD Predicts Light To Heavy Rainfall Over These Places In The Next Days; Region-Wise Details Here

Nature’s rhythms are often predictable, with the ebb and flow of seasons and weather patterns. And consequences of unprecedented rainfall can be staggering. Up till August 23, very heavy rains are expected in these northern and eastern states, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall In These States

Beginning on August 21, the weather service has forecast an increase in rainfall activity throughout east and northeast India. Furthermore, it stated that over Gujarat and southern Peninsular India, moderate rainfall activity is predicted to persist for the next three to five days. Heavy rains are expected in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar, Assam, and Meghalaya.

Moreover, some districts of Himachal Pradesh may see light to moderate amounts of rain in many locations throughout. Heavy rains that have recently descended on the state’s rugged terrain have caused flash floods and landslides.

Here is a detailed report of the upcoming weather forecast in the following zones over the next 4-5 days:

East India

Over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim throughout the next five days, over Bihar and Jharkhand on August 22 and 23, over Odisha on August 23, and over Bihar, Jharkhand, and isolated areas of severe rainfall are all highly likely.

Central India

Light/moderate to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning with isolated heavy rainfall activity is quite possible across Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and over Chhattisgarh.

Northeast India

Mild to moderately heavy rainfall, sporadic thunderstorms, and lightning can happen in Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh within 23 August.

Northwest India

Expect mild to moderately heavy rainfall, sporadic thunderstorms, and lightning over Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand throughout the next five days. Then, additionally over Punjab and Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

South India

Isolated heavy rainfall activity is highly possible over Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Telangana and Coastal Karnataka will likely see light to moderate scattered to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning.

West India

Isolated heavy rain activity is highly likely over Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada, along with mild to moderate widespread to widespread showers, thunderstorms, and lightning.
