In Photos: Landmark Buildings In The UAE Light Up To Celebrate Flag Day

UAE celebrated Flag Day on November 3 and to commemorate the special day, all the landmark buildings across the UAE lit up in the country’s colours yesterday. And this year, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai has dedicated the celebrations of the Flag Day to the heroes at the forefront of the nation’s fight against COVID-19. Sheikh Mohammed hoisted the UAE flag at the Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences. Here’s how other places in the UAE celebrated this day.

1. In Dubai, the majestic Burj Khalifa displayed the flag’s red, black, white and green colour to celebrate the day which was introduced in 2013.

2.  Capital Gate in Abu Dhabi lit up with the colour of the national flag to mark the flag day.

To celebrate the flag day, all activities were stopped at 11 Am yesterday to raise the flag and sing the national anthem to commemorate the historic day. The flag day is quite important to the Emirati culture since it is a symbol of the country’s unity. Designed by Abdullah Al Maainah in 1971, the colours of the flag represent courage, honesty, love and hope.
