India Bartender Week Introduces The Handshake Grant

India Bartender Week is a lively occasion to honour the craft and tradition of bartending. IBW is a part of Hanna Lee Communications’ global Worldwide Bartender Week initiative. It is led by industry legends Vikram Achanta, Minakshi Singh, and Yangdup Lama. The Indian bartending community will have the opportunity to network with innovators from around the world.

If you are a bartender eager to expand your skills, learn from global experts, and network with the best in the industry, this year’s summit is going to be the ultimate event you won’t want to miss, especially if you’re one of the lucky 100 bartenders selected for the Handshake Grant! This grant is a first for India and aims to increase accessibility to the summit. It provides 100 worthy bartenders with financial aid to cover their travel and stay costs.

IBW will give bartenders the opportunity to participate in interactive masterclasses, tastings, and panel discussions. You will have the opportunity to try innovative techniques like fermentation, sous vide, and fat-washing. Engaging in critical discussions on bartender wellness and diversity in the industry will be particularly insightful.

This event will also give you a chance to network like never before. You will get to meet 15 global icons, including Erik Lorincz (Owner, KWANT, London), Shuzo Nagumo (Mixology Salon), and Deke Dunne (Beverage Director, Allegory). You can also connect with Indian legends like Shatbhi Basu and Riyaz Amlani.

If you’re a bartender with at least one year of professional experience and aged between 18–30, this could be your chance to shine. Submit a simple application through this form. Show off your talent with a 45-second video of you preparing a cocktail and share why you love being a bartender. Use the hashtag #BacardiforIBW and tag IBW and event partners. If you’re not selected for the grant, don’t worry! You can still attend as a volunteer, giving you access to workshops, tastings, and masterclasses

The enthusiasm for IBW is evident. Over 135 bartenders participated in roadshows in Pune and Bangalore. The India Bar Summit 2025 is your chance to shine, whether you are a bartender or aspiring to be one. With the help of the Handshake Grant, your talent will not be restricted by financial limitations.

So, what are you waiting for? Apply now, pack your cocktail shakers, and get ready for an experience of a lifetime!
