India Launches Visa-On-Arrival For Japan, South Korea And UAE; An Attempt To Boost Tourism

If your friends from Japan, South Korea or UAE are looking to visit India soon, now is the best time for it! India has recently validated visas on arrival for Japanese, South Korean and UAE passport holders. This is done with the aim of boosting tourism within the country. Here are all of the other important details that you would need to know about this new visa initiative but our country.

According to an article which was recently published by The Times Of India or TOI, this initiative was announced by the Ministry of Tourism of India. As per the latest provision, visa on arrival is now available for the passport holders of countries like United Arab Emirates or UAE and South Korea as well as Japan.

Travellers can avail of this facility across six major International airports in the country. These include Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai. The visa on arrival is valid for a total of 60 days. What is more, it also allows for double entry which makes re-entry a breeze.

This plan also includes the e-visa facility including the Electronic Travel Authorization or the ETA. Passport holders of more than 130 countries can avail of this facility across 30 different international airports in the country.

An Attempt To Increase Tourism In The Country

This will reduce a lot of hassle in obtaining a visa and make it easier for these countries to visit India. It will, in turn, give an impetus to the tourism industry in the country. This is a part of the larger plan of the Union Ministry to streamline travel for medical tourists, conference attendees and foreigners alike.
