India’s worst nightmare has, unfortunately, come true. The first case of Coronavirus has been recorded in Kerala. A student from Kerala, who was studying at Wuhan University in China, has been tested positive for Coronavirus as reported by the Health Minister in a media statement. Over the past few days, at least 806 people who have returned to Kerala from China have been kept under observation for the possible detection of the novel coronavirus. Now as per the latest reports this student has been detected positive and is being closely monitored.

The government stated that the Indian student suffering from coronavirus is being kept in isolation. The Press Information Bureau statement also states that the patient is stable and is being closely monitored. The student studying at Wuhan University in China had returned to India. Health Minister, KK Shylaja has requested people returning from China to keep themselves in quarantine and avoid travelling to places for 28 days. She stated that its better to observe self-quarantine for 28 days. And in case any one is suffering from shortness of breath, have a cough and low-grade fever then the person must contact the specially arranged medical centres at each district. The health department has also given number 0471-255-2056 to inform people about the details regarding treatments and isolation wards.

The medical bulletin of Kerala has informed that around 19 people had been admitted in hospitals since the past week over suspicion of coronavirus. Out of them, 9 were discharged after a medical checkup and they are awaiting results of the remaining persons. And now with India reporting its first case of coronavirus in Kerala, it is a matter of concern for the state and country. Precautions You Can Take
But for now, do take precautions by washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds. Do avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands and avoid close contact with people if they are sick, especially if they have fever or cough. When it comes to food precautions, avoid eating undercooked or raw animal products and exercise care when handling milk, raw meat or animal organs to avoid cross-contamination with uncooked foods. Most important of all, if you have a fever, cough and difficulty in breathing seek medical help instantly.
