Active cases of COVID-19 are seeing a rise once again. Different states of India have reported many new infections every single day recently. Along with this, the sudden outbreak of JN.1 among patients is also something to notice at the moment. The overall rise in cases is concerning people, considering the ongoing peak holiday season where so many people are exploring different destinations domestically and abroad.
India Witnessed Hundreds Of Active COVID-19 Cases In 24 Hours
Different states of India reported a growth in coronavirus infections in the recent few days. Places that are seeing a rise in new cases are Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Pondicherry, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana.
In the last 24 hours, the overall new cases have crossed 700. India reported a rise of 752 active COVID-19 cases. Four people have died as well. This is unfortunately a major increase in cases in a day since May 21, according to a report by Hindustan Times. The Union Health Ministry updated on December 23 that the overall active cases rose to 3,420.
93 per cent of the patients are suffering from mild symptoms. They are undergoing quarantine and isolation at their houses. Only some patients are visiting hospitals for treatment. 1.2 per cent of them are admitted to the ICU. 0.6 per cent of them are on oxygen support and 0.1 per cent need ventilator support.
Different places in India have already started taking measures to control the rise in new COVID-19 infections.

Increase In New Active Cases Have Been Reported At These States
- 266 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Kerala in just 24 hours. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare shared information about the rise in infections in different parts of India. Kerala is currently witnessing a noticeable rise in active cases.
- After Kerala, another state in South India that is seeing a surge in positive coronavirus cases in Karnataka. This state reported 70 new cases in the past 24 hours.
- Next on the list of Indian states seeing a surge in infections in the last 24 hours is Maharashtra with an increase of 15 new COVID-19 cases.
- These states are followed by Tamil Nadu with 13 new cases.
- Gujarat reported an increase of 12 active cases.
- Other states also seeing the uptick are Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Telangana.
