The international passengers arriving in India can finally breathe a sigh of relief as government revises the arrival guideline in India. The government has issued fresh guidelines for all international passengers arriving in India. As per the new guideline, fully vaccinated passengers will no longer require to show their 72-hour RT-PCR test report. However, passengers will still have to fill in the Self Declaration Form on the Air Suvidha portal and upload the negative RT-PCR test report if they do not have a vaccination certificate.
In a recent development, all international passengers arriving in Kerala will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms upon arrival. Those found symptomatic should undergo an RT-PCR test upon arrival. The Rajasthan government also issued a fresh advisory for international arrivals, making RT-PCR test mandatory upon arrival for all tourists. However, all international passengers are advised to undergo home quarantine and monitor themselves for seven days.
Passengers From At-Risk Countries Must Pre-book RT-PCR Test
Amid the omicron scare, passengers arriving at six major airports in India from at-risk countries will have to compulsorily pre-book their RT-PCR test. The rule will come into effect in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, airports in the first phase. To book an RT-PCR test, follow these steps:
- Visit www. newdelhiairport.in and click on ‘Book Covid-19 Test’ and select travel type (domestic or international)
- Fill up your personal details such as name, email ID, mobile number, Aadhaar card/passport number, address, and appointment date and time.
- Then select the type of test – RT-PCR or Rapid PCR.
- Follow the instructions and book a slot for your RT-PCR test on arrival.
To get the test done, will have to pay ₹500 for RT-PCR and ₹3500 for the rapid test. In the case of RT-PCR, test results will be available within six-eight hours whereas, for rapid, it will be available in just 30 minutes to one and a half hours.

New Arrival Rules For International Passengers
All international passengers travelling to India must submit their health declaration on the Air Suvidha portal before travelling. They will also have to submit documents like PCR negative test report, copy of passports and vaccination certificates. Besides, passengers should no longer undergo 7-day mandatory home quarantine.
