The Kadavur Slender Loris Sanctuary will cover an area of nearly 11,806 hectares across the Karur and Dindigul districts. The state will open the sanctuary in an effort to protect and conserve the slender loris population in the state. These nocturnal animals play a major role in maintaining the ecological balance. These petite creatures usually live on trees and feed on pests, insects and reptiles. Thus, they help in controlling pests naturally. Slender lorises are known for their slow, careful movements.
