On the latest episode of Sunday Brunch, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, met with the wife of Maharashtra’s Chief Minister, Amruta Fadnavis. She invited us for a healthy but hearty meal at Varsha, the official residence of Maharashtra’s Chief Minister. But this episode wasn’t just about their political lives; it also gave us a chance to get a tour of Varsha, learn how Amruta first met her husband Devendra Fadnavis, their favourite dishes, and a lot more.

Amruta Fadnavis Gave Us A Tour Of Varsha

Naturally, the episode started with us getting an exclusive tour of their house, where we met their pet parrot and dogs, as well as a baby cow. As we sat for Sunday Brunch, the spread in front of us had all things healthy yet supremely appetising. From tofu and sprouts toast and moringa soup to paneer rolls and ragi pizza, everything was delectable.

As we were digging into a healthy dessert made with oats, almond milk, and blueberries, Kamiya got curious and asked if there was someone in the family who loved indulging in midnight snacking. As soon as she heard the question, Amruta revealed that her husband, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, is someone who’s often found snacking at midnight.

In fact, she has caught him a few times in the middle of the night searching the fridge for some dark chocolate. Clearly, he is a big foodie. But whose cooking does he like the most: his mother’s or Amruta’s? Amruta revealed that there was a time when she used to cook for him as a surprise. But he slyly told her that she is such a great banker and intellectual woman that she must let his mother handle the food.

How Motherhood Impacted Her Life

During this conversation, we also touched on the topic of motherhood. As goes with every woman, it’s implied that once you have a child, your life is bound to turn upside down. You start feeling obligated to live for your child first and for yourself last. Did Amruta Fadnavis also go through the same thing?

Well, yes. She revealed that she was working with Axis Bank then, and they only used to get three months of maternity leave. While she was mentally preparing to quit working and focus on her newborn daughter, her husband, Devendra Fadnavis, encouraged her not to let go of her career. He said that it might be difficult for Amruta to go back to work after a longer break and that the entire family was there to support her and their child.

Later in the episode, we also found out what Devendra Fadnavis is like as a husband. To know all about it, watch the full episode on the Curly Tales YouTube channel.
