Sunanda Sharma has carved a distinct space for herself in the Punjabi music scene with her soulful voice, infectious energy and relatable personality. From chart-topping songs to her appearances on screen, the singer has steadily built a strong connection with audiences beyond music. On Sunday Brunch with Curly Tales, Sunanda spoke about self-love, solo dates, and finding comfort in her own company.
Sunanda Sharma On Enjoying Her Own Company
Being from Punjab, where people are generally social and closely involved in each other’s lives, Kamiya Jani asked Sunanda Sharma if she misses that sense of community after moving to Mumbai nearly a year ago. In response, the Punjabi singer opened up about how she has consciously limited her interactions with people mostly to work. For Sunanda, this sense of detachment is also a way of staying focused and reaching her goals sooner.
While she has her mother and team around her, Sunanda says she genuinely enjoys keeping to herself. When she has some free time, she prefers being alone and says she never gets bored of her own company.
“I love myself. Mujhe mere saath se zyada kabhi koi achha saath mila hi nahi hai. Mujhe lagta hai mere sabse achha dost bhi main hi hoon. Maine bahut cheezon mein apne aap ko uss tarah sambhal liya hai ki doosra koi insaan lagta nahi mujhe sambhal sakta hai (I love myself. I have never found better company than my own. I feel like I am my own best friend. I have learned to take care of myself in so many ways that I don’t feel like anyone else can take care of me better than I can),” she said, reflecting on the comfort she finds in being there for herself.

“Main akele movie dekhne nikal jaati hoon, akele mujhe drive karna bahut pasand hai,” she shared. Sunanda added that she puts on her favourite Punjabi playlist and keeps driving until her heart’s content, enjoying the freedom of being by herself.
