A lot can change after you get married, but for Vikrant Massey, his love for solo travel isn’t one of them. While he makes sure to plan a family trip every four months, he also finds time between his hectic work schedule to take off on solo adventures. On Sunday Brunch, Vikrant opened up about his next solo travel plan, and honestly, we’re already inspired!
Vikrant Massey Plans Solo Antarctica Trip
When Kamiya Jani, our Editor-in-Chief, asked Vikrant if he still manages to take solo trips after marriage and whether he gets “permission” to travel alone, the actor had a rather simple answer. He shared that he and his wife have been together for so long that they understand each other’s space and travel plans. The couple makes it a point to take a two-week trip together every four months, while also giving each other the freedom to take occasional solo breaks.
Vikrant said there’s nothing too deep about his solo trips. Sometimes, he simply wants to take a break and spend some time by himself. And in the middle of the conversation, he dropped a rather exciting travel plan: he is heading to Antarctica on a solo trip next year! The revelation left his co-stars Vedika Pinto and Mahima Makwana, along with Kamiya, genuinely in awe. And if that wasn’t exciting enough, Vikrant plans to spend 21–22 days exploring the icy continent all by himself.

Says He Is Keen To Experience The Drake Passage
For his solo trip to Antarctica, Vikrant Massey is most excited about the Drake Passage. “It’s the most volatile sea route in the world. During peak winter, there are waves that are 90-95 feet high,” he said with clear excitement in his voice.
When Vedika Pinto curiously asked if he had ever been on a ship through rough waters, Vikrant said yes and explained that cruises are essentially like “huge hotels on water.” But the Drake Passage is a completely different experience, he revealed. The waters can get so rough that people have been injured, and ships even provide belts for the beds so passengers don’t drift around their rooms while sleeping.
And getting there won’t be a quick journey either. Vikrant said the trip will involve around 30 hours of air travel one way, followed by a long commute to reach the sea and then a 10–11-day voyage across the water.
