From Preparations To Celebration, Ganesh Chaturthi At Shankar Mahadevan’s House Is A Family Affair

Shankar Mahadevan

This Ganeshotsav, Shankar Mahadevan welcomed our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, to his Vashi home to join the grand celebrations at the Mahadevan household. After the puja, they all sat down for the much-awaited Sadhya, and also played a game of ‘Who’s Most Likely To’ while relishing the meal. When asked who’s in charge of Ganpati decoration and celebration every year, here’s what they all said!

Ganesh Chaturthi Preparation At Mahadevan Home

Kamiya Jani sat down for a delicious South Indian meal with Shankar Mahadevan, his wife, Sangeeta Mahadevan, and sons, Siddharth Mahadevan and Shivam Mahadevan. When asked who takes the lead in decorating for Ganpati at their home, they said that the entire family comes together to decorate the house, and they each have their own responsibilities.

While Sangeeta Mahadevan is the ultimate planner during the festivities, when it comes to Ganeshotsav decorations, all four contribute, but it’s Siddharth who takes the lead and helps the most. Siddharth added, “We all have our own departments, with the whole Ganpati planning. Everybody takes care of their respective departments.”

Furthermore, they also revealed that among the four of them, Sangeeta Mahadevan is likely to eat the most modaks! Interestingly, Shankar Mahadevan confessed that he is most likely to forget the aarti mid-way and even added that he often forgets his own lyrics on stage as well!
