Known for his versatility and powerful performances, Piyush Mishra has made a mark not just as an actor but also as a singer, lyricist, and theatre personality. Over the years, he has earned acclaim for his intense character portrayals, memorable songs, and thought-provoking poetry. This Sunday, he welcomed our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, to his home for a delicious, home-cooked Sunday Brunch, where they also played a fun game of ‘This or That’. Here’s how it went down.
This Or That With Piyush Mishra
For the game, Kamiya presented Piyush Mishra with a series of food choices and asked him to pick his favourites. The game kicked off with a tough decision: Gwalior ke laddu or Delhi’s rabri falooda. “Laddu ke samne toh kuch bhi nahi,” he immediately declared. Over the meal, he went on to share that a small shop in Gwalior called Bahadura makes laddus that, according to him, are truly unbeatable.
When asked to choose between dahi bafla and curd rice, Piyush Mishra said he likes both. Between paratha and idli, he picked paratha, and when presented with mawa bhatti and payasam, he chose payasam. Given the choice between rasam and sambar, he immediately went with sambar. And when it came to kachori samosa or medu vada, kachori samosa won his vote.
For poha-jalebi versus idli sambar, he preferred poha-jalebi. Asked to choose between gajak and Mysore Pak, he instantly went with gajak. When Kamiya shared that Mysore Pak is her top pick, he quipped, “Matlab tumne asli gajak khaayi nahi hai,” adding that Mysore Pak has too much ghee for his taste.
On Working With Ranbir Kapoor
Piyush Mishra has an illustrious career, and he has worked with some of the biggest stars in the Hindi film industry. When Kamiya asked who he enjoyed working with the most, he said he had fun working with everyone. But if he had to choose one, then his absolute favourite is Ranbir Kapoor!
“Ranbir…uski baat hi mat karo yaar! Woh toh khair gazab hai. Tantrums wagera kuch nahi hai uss main. Usse pata hai woh kitna bada star hai! He knows it, koi hang ups nahi hai uske–gazab hi banda hai woh,” he fondly shared.
