“PR Companies Create Virus & Antidote,” Siddhant Chaturvedi Reveals Dark Side Of Film Industry

On a high-energy Sunday Brunch episode with our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, actors Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mrunal Thakur were at their candid best. From opening up about their take on love and romance to having a no-holds-barred discussion on how it is to navigate Bollywood as outsiders, the duo made interesting revelations about the role of Public Relations (PR) agencies in the film industry. Siddhant even mapped out a scenario where he revealed how a PR agency can play the role of both doling out “virus” and its “antidote” at the same time.

Siddhant Chaturvedi & Mrunal Thakur Talk About Negative PR

Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mrunal Thakur enjoyed a soulful Sunday Brunch with Kamiya Jani. The trio delved into Maharashtrian and Purvanchali flavours. They sank their teeth into Litti Chokha, Sev Chi Bhaji, Bharli Vangi and more, and washed down their meal with Sol Kadhi. This was a lavish, much-needed meal after a game of “Food Pictionary” and letting out their stress and anger in a rage room.

Later, the actors opened up about how PR agencies sometimes orchestrate negative campaigns against actors. Kamiya Jani asked the cast of Do Deewane Seher Mein about influencers, revealing that they were asked to post negative comments about particular actors. “That’s really sad. That’s where we’ve come down to,” said Mrunal.

She added, “It (negative PR) does not just scar the human that I am. It’s the perception, and how it starts affecting your work.” “If you can’t do something good for someone. Don’t do something bad as well.” Calling it brutal, Mrunal highlighted the prevalence of cancel culture. Initially, Siddhant refuted actors running hate campaigns against each other. But Mrunal cut him short, she asked, “How do you know?”

“PR Companies Create Both Virus And Antidote”

Siddhant Chaturvedi shared his observations of PR companies that notice the tide. The minute they see certain actors facing flak on social media, the PR companies jump on those trends by investing more to fan the flames.

“Some PR companies raise the hate on a particular actor. Then, that actor comes running to the same PR company to negate the hate.” Siddhant called this a “matrix”. “They (PR companies) are the ones who create the virus and the antidote,” revealed Siddhant.

Mrunal revealed how she never had a PR. But she had to hire a team for damage control on negative social media chatter manufactured against her.
