The way he cherishes those memories was conveyed by the little glint in his eyes. He also revealed the one thing that he misses the most about living in his home in Ghurala. To know what it is, read on.

Karan Aujla Reminisces About His Childhood In Ghurala

After losing both his parents at a tender age, Karan Aujla has seen a lot of lows in life. But things started turning around for him when he moved to Canada as a teenager. That’s where he shaped his musical journey, started recording, wrote for other artists, and then finally created his own albums and became a global star.

In the last couple of years, he revealed that he has visited India quite often, whether it’s for production purposes or for concerts. And he makes sure to always visit his village whenever he can. That made us curious about one thing he misses the most about living there. In a completely heartwarming way, Karan Aujla revealed that every time he steps into the same house that he was born in and grew up in, he can envision how he used to spend time with his family, how they used to eat together, and how he was always in a kurta. All in all, he misses the simplicity of it all.

In the later years of his life, he spent a lot of time living in Brampton, Canada, known for a widespread Punjabi community. While that brought a sense of familiarity for him, he also spoke about the difference between the Punjabi community in different parts of the world, whether it’s in Canada, the United Kingdom, or India. And for Karan Aujla, nothing truly matches up to the warmth and belonging that he feels in Punjab, his home, his village.

The Punjabi Culture In Canada

Sharing more about the Punjabi culture in Canada, he revealed that while there may be some differences, it’s also similar in a lot of ways. For somebody who would visit Brampton for the first time, they will feel like they have entered a pind in Punjab. They would find women sitting in the sun on charpais.

Karan Aujla added that he thinks that people there hang out with each other so much because they have this realisation that they have come so far away from home, and here, this community is all they have. The support of each other is all that sustains them in this foreign country. He truly painted a wonderful picture of what the Punjabi community in Canada looks like.
