But that’s not how things work in real life, even if you’re one of the biggest super stars in the country. In a tête-à-tête with Kamiya Jani, entrepreneur and philanthropist Upasana Konidela recently shared how her relationship with Ram Charan blossomed gradually from friendship, proving that real love stories often take their own time, and things aren’t always so filmy!
How Ram Charan & Upasana Konidela’s Love Story Evolved
Upasana Konidela invited Curly Tales for a delicious Sunday Brunch at her beautiful Hyderabad home. Before we sat for the elaborate meal, she shared stories behind some old pictures, one of which was of her and Ram Charan, back when they were just friends. In fact, in Upasana’s own words, they weren’t even thinking about anything else.
So, how did the love story really evolve? “We realised that we couldn’t get a better match for each other,” she jokingly shared. Upasana Konidela then added that they were friends for more than two years before they started dating. Intrigued, Kamiya asked if they had sparks when they first met or not. To this, Upasana replied, “No, it’s not so filmy, my dear! It’s not like Magadheera where we touched and felt sparks! We lived in reality.”

Ram’s True Test Of Love
Upasana Konidela shared a cute story from her dating time with Ram Charan. “I said if you really love me, I need you to take me to Famous Ice Cream, and the shop is in the middle of a market, and he was a star by then, and anybody would recognise him. So, he said: Okay! We went there, we ordered ice cream on the date, and we had people banging on our doors after that, which was a true test of his love, and he passed with flying colours,” she shared.
