Recently, on an exciting episode of Sunday Brunch, our Editor-in-Chief Kamiya Jani met with the dynamic father-and-son duo Jaaved Jaaferi and his son Meezaan Jafri. In their latest movie, De De Pyaar De 2, they both shared a screen for the first time ever. And over a home-cooked meal, we found out all about it.
Jaaved Jaaferi Speaks About The Different Types Of Actors
When we think of Jaaved Jaaferi, we do not associate him with just one thing. From his iconic voice in Takeshi’s Castle to his phenomenal acting in movies like Dhamaal, he has been a big part of our childhoods. And now, as he is in the 40th year of his career, he definitely has a lot of experience and insights to pass on to his son.
But does it also get intimidating for him? Well, Meezaan revealed that what he is trying to do in his career is different from what his father did. While he does try to learn from his experience, he doesn’t let it get to him. Adding to it, Javed Jaffrey revealed that there are different trajectories an actor can choose for himself.
He said there are three categories: there are stars, there are actors, and then there are star actors. But what is the difference between the three of them? Well, without naming any names, Jaaved Jaaferi shared that stars, as the name implies, are supremely popular people, with audiences showering them with nothing but love. And actors are known for their talents. And then there’s the package: actors who are stars. So in this day and age, you can actually decide which way you want to go.

The Stuffed Monaco Sandwich
One of the highlights of this episode was the special little snack we got to try. As Meezaan Jaffrey says, this is one thing that you will only find at their house. Made with Monaco biscuits, with two of them stuffed with a mixture of potatoes, chicken, and some masala, dipped in eggs, and then deep-fried. It is so addictive that Meezan claims that he can have a plate full of them in one go. One bite into it, and Kamiya couldn’t agree more about it being absolutely delicious.
