Recently, an auto driver from Bengaluru made a passenger clean up the backseat of the auto before letting him leave. As soon as he posted the video, the incident sparked a conversation around civic sense and accountability in shared spaces. Read on to know more about it.

Bengaluru Auto Driver Viral Video

The video, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Sanatana Kannada, showed how the auto driver calmly asked the passenger to check the seat as he got down to leave. To which the passenger initially brushed the seat lightly, assuming that would be enough, and began to walk away. However, the driver checked the condition of his vehicle and noticed that some bits of dirt and litter were still left behind. He immediately called the person back and asked him to clean the seat properly. The passenger returned and made sure to clean it thoroughly before leaving.

Sharing the video, the page backed the driver’s action and wrote, “A passenger pays only for the journey, not for the licence to clip nails, litter, or dirty the vehicle. Such a lack of civic sense is disappointing.” It also emphasised that auto drivers should not hesitate to be clear in such situations, stating that the vehicle is their daily bread and something they have every right to protect.
