Big Cat Under Watch By The Officials
The months from October to December mark the prime breeding time for tigers in India. It’s common for male tigers to travel long distances in search of a loving partner. But this time, instead of walking, this tiger chose to swim! According to The New Indian Express, officials stated that the tiger entered Telangana through the Itykhal Pahad forest area in the Karjelly range, which is a known entry point for big cats from Maharashtra’s reserves. The tiger has travelled around 40-50 km and was last sighted near the Mancherial forest area.
Officials are continuously tracking his movements along with resident tigers using camera traps and other monitoring tools. Kagaznagar FDO Sushanth Sukdev told The New Indian Express that tigers often cross the Pranahita River during the spring season too. They swim across in search of mates, food, and water. Many stay for a while before returning to their original territory.
