With the arrival of March, there has been a significant shift in the weather in India. Some regions are experiencing intense heat, while several others are witnessing heavy rainfall and snowfall. Delhi Rains Make The Weather Feel Pleasant

March has brought sweltering heat, rainfall and even snowfall. Every day, there has been a new change in the weather, be it in Delhi, Bengaluru or hilly areas. Delhi has been experiencing constant weather shifts, from intense heat to sudden rainfall. Now, according to Hindustan Times, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast rain for the next three days in Delhi. This means Delhiites can expect relief from the heat and a drop in temperature from March 18 to March 20, 2026. A yellow alert has also been issued.

Many parts of Karnataka also received the first spell of pre-monsoon rainfall on March 17. It brought down the summer heat significantly. According to Deccan Herald, Bengaluru saw heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning and gusty winds. Residents of Sanjayanagar, Yelahanka and Devanahalli even experienced hailstorms. 

The IMD has predicted continued rainfall in several districts of Bengaluru for the next two days. People have been advised to remain cautious as the weather remains unstable. Just like Delhi, a yellow alert is in place for most districts of coastal Karnataka.

Snowfall Continues In The Himalayas

Mumbaikars can also expect light rain in the coming days, especially on March 18 and 19, 2026. Moreover, rain and snow will continue for the third day in Kashmir. According to Zee News, a fresh western disturbance is affecting Northwest India. There has been a fresh spell of rain and snowfall in the Himalayas. Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh will experience light to moderate rainfall and snowfall till March 21, 2026.

Moreover, states like Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh are also under alert for high-intensity rainfall, ranging from heavy to very heavy. Regions like Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram can expect thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds. Seems like almost every region may experience a weather shift in the coming days.
