Taking to his Instagram handle, Rohit, a Swiggy delivery agent and content creator, shared a short video that highlights the struggles delivery agents face. In the video, the Swiggy agent could he heard speaking to a customer on a call. The customer is heard insisting that the delivery agent climb seven floors to deliver his meal as the lift in his apartment broke down.
To this, Rohit requested him to meet him halfway. Rohit can climb four floors, and the customer, three floors. They can meet halfway, and the delivery agent can deliver the food to him with ease. But the customer rudely shot his suggestion down. He was well aware of the fact that the lift had been out of service for two days. He replied that he had placed a food order, so he didn’t have to climb down the stairs.
His Response Won Hearts On The Internet
In response, the Swiggy delivery agent stated that he would cancel the order. This would mean the rude customer wouldn’t be able to place cash-on-delivery orders in the future. Without missing a beat, the customer told him to cancel the order. The video went viral on Instagram, garnering over 7000 likes and 815.4k views on X. Netizens sided with the delivery agent and empathised with his ordeal.
They pointed out that people had zero regard for humanity. Others stated how the hard work of the delivery agent is often taken for granted. “Karma will strike him someday,” mentioned an X user.
