Apparently, portraits of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Rani Padmavati are being used in a washroom in a banquet hall in Sikri. Both Shivaji Maharaj and Rani Padmavati hold great importance and respect in Indian culture for their heroic sacrifices.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the legendary founder of the Maratha Empire in the 17th century, is deeply respected in India, especially in Maharashtra. People know him for protecting human rights. He is also known for his integrity and loyalty towards his people. On the other hand, Rani Padmavati is an iconic symbol of heroic sacrifice. She is deeply respected in Rajput culture and across Rajasthan.

Seeing the portraits of these two legendary icons inside a washroom will naturally anger netizens and those who truly know Indian history. A video posted on Instagram by @zindagi.gulzar.h is going viral for the same reason. Apparently, Milan Banquet Hall in Sikri, Faridabad, has come under fire for using their photos on washroom doors to indicate washrooms for men and women.

Netizens React To Viral Video

The man in the video shows the portraits and says that many people deeply respect these two icons and will not tolerate having their leaders’ portraits in a washroom like this. It is not just disrespectful to them but also to India’s legacy. The man in the video also asks the banquet authorities to remove the portraits as soon as possible.

Netizens were quick to react to the video. One of them asked about the location and also asked about the owners of the banquet hall. Another wrote, “Shameful…that they depict a warrior, a king who saved Santana dharma in a washroom..Govt of Maharashtra should close the shop down. One user commented, “This is outrageous. This needs to be taken down asap.” It is clear that people were not happy and demanded the removal of the portraits from inside the washroom.
