Blinkit is one of India’s leading quick commerce platforms. It delivers groceries, household essentials, skincare, and more, often in under 10-15 minutes. Many people are now dependent on it. But a recent post has gone viral, highlighting that “we are getting addicted to these apps.” Here’s what the netizens are saying.
Woman Highlights Blinkit Addiction
Yesterday, guests were at home and Mom asked me to make a milkshake. I opened Blinkit and it showed ₹235 with a 17-minute wait.
I just stepped out of the house, walked 150 meters, it took me only 5-6 minutes, and I paid just ₹168.

You will have to agree that Blinkit is the last-minute app we often find ourselves opening. Be it ingredients for a recipe or late-night snacks, we use this app for many purposes. A few years ago, people walked to markets to get daily bread or milk packets, but now most order via the app.
A recent post by Nalini Unagar highlighted that we are all getting addicted to apps like Blinkit. She shared on X that when guests came over, her mom asked her to make milkshakes. She decided to order milk from Blinkit, which showed a 17-minute wait and a charge of ₹235. Instead, she went to the local market, which took just 5-6 minutes and cost only ₹168.

Here’s What The Netizens Are Saying
The difference in time and cost is worth noting. Nalini mentioned that instead of using apps, we can go to local stores to save money and time. Apps like Blinkit not only charge for the product but also add delivery charges, handling fees, and sometimes surge pricing during high demand.
Netizens had mixed opinions. One wrote, “Ordered food items for my business at 11 PM and got a decent discount. Sometimes they loot, sometimes they’re good.” Another said, “We aren’t paying for groceries; we’re paying a Laziness Tax.”
A third user pointed out that not everyone has local shops nearby, and apps like Blinkit act as saviours during urgent needs. Plus, you get products delivered at home for last-minute needs. We would have to agree that apps like Blinkit have both pros and cons.
