What began as Danish Sait’s viral call to “boycott mediocre pizza” has now found its delicious finale. Papa Johns officially opened its doors in India, starting with Bengaluru, and Danish himself has declared that the wait is over.
Papa Johns Makes Bengaluru Debut And Wins Danish Sait’s Heart
In the new launch film, Danish walks into the first Papa Johns store with the same fiery skepticism that set the city buzzing. One bite of the 72-hour proofed, never-frozen dough, topped with 100% real mozzarella and fresh vegetables, and the transformation is instant.
Danish’s verdict? “Now, just like everything in Namma Bengaluru, pizza is also awesome.”
The launch day turned into a city-wide celebration. Food critics, creators, and long-time pizza loyalists flooded the flagship Indiranagar store, sharing first bites and first reactions.

Influencers and avid foodies summed up the mood of the evening perfectly. Between shared laughs and cheese pulls, many agreed that Bengaluru finally has a pizza that lives up to its vibe. Leading the celebration was Danish Sait, who was present at the launch and was thrilled to see the movement come full circle, from #BoycottMediocrePizza to #IduAwesome.
His excitement set the tone for the evening as guests celebrated Papa Johns’ arrival in the city, praising the freshness of the pizzas and the soft, flavourful crust that captured the true spirit of Bengaluru.
Bengaluru’s Pizza Story Finds New Hero
Papa Johns entry sets a new benchmark in the Indian QSR pizza space: never-frozen dough, clean-label toppings, and real mozzarella, at a price point almost identical to existing players. It’s an upgrade without the markup, designed to make premium pizza the new everyday pizza.
Summing up the milestone, Tapan Vaidya, Group CEO, PJP Investments Group, said, “Bengaluru has always been a city that celebrates authenticity and great taste. Launching Papa Johns here reflects that spirit. Every pizza is made with fresh, never-frozen dough, real mozzarella and carefully selected ingredients that bring out true flavour. This launch is a commitment to serving the city the quality it deserves and the flavour it connects with.”
The movement now comes a full circle, from the first “#BoycottMediocrePizza” post to a sold-out launch night, Bengaluru’s pizza story has a new hero. With Better Ingredients and Better Pizza now in town, the city’s boycott of mediocrity can finally, deliciously, end.
