Best Holi Cocktails To Try At Home

1. Amarula Thandai

Ingredients:

  • 45 ml Amarula Cream Liqueur
  • 60 ml Chilled thandai
  • 15 ml Vodka (optional, for extra kick)
  • Ice cubes

Method:

  1. Fill a shaker with amarula, thandai, and vodka if desired.
  2. Put some ice in.
  3. Give it a gentle shake for 15 to 20 seconds.
  4. Over fresh ice, strain into a rocks glass.
  5. Rose petals or crushed pistachios can be used as a garnish.

2. Let’s Whisper Essence

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml Davana Vermouth Indica Rosso
  • 30 ml Rhubarb syrup
  • 45 ml Apple juice
  • 5 ml Fresh lime juice
  • Soda to top up
  • Ice cubes
  • Gummy bears for garnish

Method:

  1. Pour some ice into a highball glass.
  2. Add apple juice, lime juice, rhubarb syrup, and vermouth.
  3. Stir gently.
  4. Add some soda to top it off.
  5. Garnish with gummy bears and enjoy.

3. Deep Purple

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml Smirnoff Minty Jamun
  • 15 ml Green apple syrup
  • 15 ml Fresh lime juice
  • 8 Fresh mint leaves
  • Ice cubes
  • Apple slice, jamun slice & mint sprig (garnish)

Method:

  1. Fill a shaker with spirit, apple syrup, lime juice, and six mint leaves.
  2. Add ice and give it a good shake.
  3. Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
  4. Add apple, jamun, and mint as garnish and enjoy this Holi cocktail.

4. Irish Thandai

Ingredients:

  • 45 ml Teeling Irish Whiskey
  • 60 ml Thandai milk
  • 10 ml Rose water
  • Ice cubes
  • Grated almonds & cinnamon (garnish)

Method:

  1. Fill a shaker with all the ingredients.
  2. Pour in ice and give it a good shake.
  3. Over crushed ice, strain into an old-fashioned glass or mud pot.
  4. Add some cinnamon and almonds on top and serve.

5. Royal Dry Fruit Elixir

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml Vodka
  • 90 ml Mixed dry fruit sharbat
  • 20 ml Jaggery syrup
  • Ice cubes

Method:

  1. In a shaker, combine vodka, sharbat, and jaggery syrup.
  2. Add ice and give it a shake.
  3. Strain twice into a cold coupe glass for a smooth Holi sip.

6. Punch Fresco

Ingredients:

  • 75 ml The Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve
  • 4 Watermelon chunks (or 75 ml fresh juice)
  • 1 tsp Sugar cane syrup or agave
  • Ice cubes
  • Tajin (optional rim)
  • Lemon slice & mint (garnish)

Method:

  1. In a shaker, muddle the sugar and watermelon.
  2. Mix in the ice and whisky.
  3. Give it a good shake.
  4. Strain over fresh ice in a glass.
  5. Add lemon and mint as a garnish to this amazing Holi cocktail.

7. Singleton Sherbet

  • 60 ml The Singleton 12 Year Old
  • 15 ml Berry saccharum
  • 5–10 ml Acid solution
  • Rose soda (to top up)
  • Ice cubes
  • Strawberry slice (garnish)

Method:

  1. Put some ice in a glass.
  2. Add the acids, berry saccharum, and whisky.
  3. Stir just a little.
  4. Pour in some rose soda.
  5. Add a slice of strawberry as a garnish and enjoy.

8. Guava Lime Rum

Ingredients:

  • 3 Lime slices
  • 1 heaping tbsp Sugar
  • 45 ml Camikara 3YO aged rum
  • 120 ml Cold guava nectar
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime slice (garnish)

Method:

  1. Muddle lime slices and sugar in a shaker.
  2. Pour in guava nectar and rum.
  3. Shake well after adding the ice.
  4. Pour through a strainer onto fresh ice in a glass.
  5. Add a slice of lime as a garnish and serve this Holi cocktail.
