Here are the ingredients you will need:
- Garlic cloves- at least 7-8
- Red chillies- 2
- Green chillies- 2
- Dahi- 1 katori (make sure it is fresh and thick and not too sour)
- Onions- 1 medium-sized, chopped
- Red chilli powder- 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
- Dried coriander powder- 1 teaspoon
- Salt- as per taste
- A handful of fresh coriander leaves
- Jeera- 1/2 teaspoon for tadka
- Oil- 1-2 tablespoons for tadka
- Lemon juice- 1 teaspoon

Here’s The Easy Method
Now, let’s jump straight to the method of the recipe.
- Take a mortar and pestle or a flat grinding stone and add the garlic cloves, green chillies and red chillies. Crush the ingredients roughly together.
- Next, add dahi, onion, red chilli powder, dried coriander powder, salt and coriander leaves. Crush everything properly together until the mixture turns yellow and reaches a thick consistency.
- Now, heat the oil and jeera in a pan to make a tempering (tadka). Pour it directly over the chutney mixture and mix it.
- Finish it off by pouring lemon juice into the chutney and giving it a final mix. That’s it! Your Dahi Pyaaz ki Chutney is now ready to enjoy.
