Sanjau Dutt Unveils Alta Stella In Mumbai

Alta Stella, a restaurant in Mumbai, feels both grounding and elevated. Think of it as a place where you can spend quiet evenings with your close ones. In partnership with entrepreneur Abhimanyu Jakhar, Sanjay Dutt has unveiled this Mumbai gem that serves cocktails crafted for every zodiac sign, amazing food and desserts that will make you come back for more.

This is not just a usual rooftop destination where you eat, pay and leave. Here, you can spend afternoons over unhurried lunches and easy conversations. As dusk sets in, the lights grow warmer, the music intensifies, and the atmosphere feels more alive.

The 12,000 sq ft space can accommodate up to 250 guests. The interiors speak art. Think sculpted lighting, layered textures, celestial motifs and constellation-inspired details. The best part is the mirrored rooftop surface, where the sky reflects back into the space at night, creating the illusion of stars shimmering not just overhead but around you.

Global Dishes, Zodiac-Inspired Cocktails & More

Let’s come to the main part. The food. Chef Manoranjan has crafted a menu that blends global influences with Indian sensibilities. Some signature items include Beetroot & Whipped Feta Croquettes, Tangra Chicken Pops, Chicken Thecha Kulcha, Chicken Parmesan Milanese and Podi Butter Prawns.

Talking about the drinks, mixologist Sidharth has drawn inspiration from celestial mythology and zodiac signs. He has crafted 12 signature cocktails that reflect personality and mood. Some standouts include Enki (Aquarius), Jasper (Aries), Chimera (Leo), Themis (Libra) and Ebisu (Pisces). For dessert, guests can try the Chenna Poda Cheesecake, inspired by the caramelised sweetness of Odisha’s traditional chenna poda.

Talking about the restaurant, Sanjay Dutt says, “Being a celebrity comes with a lot of noise and chaos around you, so I’ve learned to appreciate spaces that feel calm and real. Alta Stella has that feeling. You’re up close to the sky, you see the stars above, and somehow everything slows down – aur phir bas dil karta hai thoda aur ruk jaayein. There’s a quiet strength here, and that’s what makes the place special for me.”

Founder Abhimanyu Jakhar adds, “Alta Stella was born from a very personal belief that when you place yourself under the stars, you naturally begin to look inward. The idea of being ‘closest to the star’ isn’t about height or grandeur for us; it’s about creating a space where people feel aligned with themselves.”
