Social media creator and chef Yuvraj Dewan took to his Instagram channel and shared an easy and delicious recipe on how to make the viral shiny cheese slices at home. Sharing the video, he also mentioned the recipe for it and wrote, “Glossy, smooth, perfectly sliceable — these homemade cheese slices melt beautifully and taste even better than store-bought.”
How To Make Cheese Slices At Home?
In the video, you can see Yuvraj making the cheese slices at home. If you too wish to make this viral recipe, then all you need are a few things.
Ingredients:
- Full-fat milk
- Unsalted butter
- Neutral oil,
- Milk powder
- Salt
- Sugar
- Honey
- Agar-Agar
- Cornflour
Method:
1. Pour the cold milk into a saucepan. Whisk in the agar-agar and cornflour until completely lump-free.
2. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring it to a proper boil, whisking continuously. Let it boil for 45–60 seconds to fully activate the agar.
3. Lower the heat slightly, add the milk powder and whisk until fully dissolved and smooth.
4. Add the honey, salt, sugar, butter and neutral oil. Whisk until everything is fully melted.
5. Transfer the hot mixture to a blender and blend for 5 seconds only, just until smooth and glossy. Do not over-blend.
6. Pour immediately into a lined baking pan, spreading to 3–4 mm thickness for classic cheese slices or 5–6 mm for thicker, burger-style slices. If there is extra mixture, divide it into two pans for even thickness.
7. Refrigerate until set, about 30 minutes.
8. Once firm, cut into squares with a sharp knife and enjoy plain, on bread, sandwiched between toast, or melted over bread or a burger.
