Sameera Reddy Makes Goan Wild Mango Coconut Curry
Sameera Reddy is undoubtedly a foodie. She not only enjoys eating food but also experiments with many recipes. The best thing is that she shares the method on social media with her fans. Recently, she prepared a tangy and delicious Goan Wild Mango Coconut Curry, also called Ghottache Saswe. The curry is a perfect dish to try this summer.
Here Are The Ingredients:
- Ghotta (wild mangoes)-washed and peeled whole mangoes
- Freshly grated coconut
- Coriander seeds
- Haldi powder
- Mirchi powder
- Salt (to taste)
- Curry leaves
- Mustard seeds
- Oil
Here Is The Method:
- Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Let them splutter.
- Add curry leaves and let them crackle.
- Add the washed and peeled ghotta mangoes and stir for a minute.
- Add haldi, mirchi powder and salt. Mix well.
- Add a little water, cover and let the mangoes cook till soft.
- In a mixer, grind grated coconut with coriander seeds, haldi and mirchi powder into a smooth paste.
- Add this paste to the mango mixture and let it simmer for a couple of minutes.
- Add a little bit of gur (jaggery) and cook for two minutes again. That’s it. Your Goan Wild Mango Coconut Curry is ready to eat.

A Curry That Tastes Sweet, Tangy And Spicy
Sameera Reddy used freshly plucked wild mangoes for this recipe, but you can buy them from your nearby store too. Make sure you wash them properly before using them. The curry is a seasonal summer dish and tastes sweet, tangy and mildly spicy with a coastal coconut flavour.
This curry is often eaten with steamed rice or hot, fluffy puris and is best enjoyed by hand by sucking the curry-soaked pulp off the mango seeds. You can pair this dish with tender coconut water or a mango-coconut cooler for a perfect summer meal.
