Sunny Leone and Sahil Baweja have officially given Delhi a nightlife experience unlike anything the city has seen before. Their newest venture, Potions – Cocktail Theatre, has opened in Mehrauli, and the name truly says it all. This isn’t just a bar. It’s not a speakeasy, not a lounge, not a club. It’s something far more dramatic, emotional, and immersive.
Potions: Sunny Leone & Sahil Baweja’s Theatrical New Bar In Delhi
Potions feels like a place where cocktails are not just drinks but performances, where bartenders step into the role of “artists,” and where every guest becomes part of the show. And just when you think it can’t get better, you look up and see the Qutub Minar glowing right outside the terrace. Yes, the view itself is a showstopper.
Potions by Sunny Leone and Sahil Baweja is built on one central idea: When cocktails become art, drinking becomes an experience. The entire 50-seater venue is designed like a theatre. The decor plays with contrasts; one side is a white fort wall that looks almost mythical, the other is a dark volcanic stone cave that feels powerful and raw.
The terrace continues the black-and-white theme, softened by lush greenery, and all of it opens to one of Delhi’s most iconic monuments.
Every cocktail here is crafted with emotions in mind: love, heartbreak, nostalgia, confusion, and exhilaration. The first menu, “Love & its Aftermath,” is almost like reading a diary of modern relationships. Drinks are inspired by right swipes, late-night texts, painful endings, hopeful beginnings, and all the chaos in between.
Food plays an equally important role, with elements like Indian Tandoori plates, Mediterranean grills, exciting vegetarian choices, seafood showstoppers, and even a live Rumali Roti performance at the table.
Sunny Leone & Sahil Baweja Talk To Curly Tales
We got the rare opportunity to interact with them and understand the soul behind Potions. Their answers were honest, warm, and full of passion.
1. If someone is visiting Potions for the first time, which cocktail should they order?
“Start with Love Potion!” Sunny shared without any hesitation. “It’s my absolute favourite — it has tequila (which I love), chocolate, and that little bit of smoke and theatre that makes it exciting. It’s beautiful, dramatic, and perfectly captures what Potions is all about: indulgent, bold, and emotional.”
2. Are there any dishes or drinks that you personally insisted on adding to the menu?
Sunny emphasised how important inclusivity was for her: “I love that every cocktail here can also be made as a mocktail. Whether you drink or not, you get the same fun, artistic experience.” Food-wise, she has clear favourites: “The Chili Rubbed Tofu Tikka and Jalapeño Salmon Tikka are amazing, flavourful, unique, and a perfect pairing with the drinks.”
3. The menu theme, ‘Love & its Aftermath,’ is full of emotions. Do any cocktails have a personal connection for you?
“Yes! That’s what makes this menu special,” Sunny exclaimed with excitement! She added, “It’s inspired by real emotions and experiences that all of us have gone through, falling in love, heartbreak, moving on, or even just laughing at how crazy it all gets.” For her, Love Potion is the closest, calling it the romantic, hopeful one. “It’s fun, it’s dramatic, and it reminds you that love, no matter how it turns out, is always worth celebrating,” she adds.
4. What feeling do you want guests to leave with after visiting Potions?
Sunny answered this with visible emotion and said, “I want people to walk out feeling like they were part of something magical. Potions isn’t just about drinks; it’s about emotions, performance, and connection. I want every guest to feel seen, to feel beautiful, and to leave with a memory that lingers, like they just stepped out of a story.”
5. Potions focuses strongly on homegrown talent. What gap are you trying to address in India’s bar scene?
Keeping it simple and honest, Sunny admitted, “Honestly, I don’t think there’s anything lacking at Potions or even at Chica Loca. India’s bar scene has incredible talent, we’re just adding our own twist to it. Potions brings a little more drama, a little more creativity, and a lot more fun.”
6. The AI cocktail experience is unusual for India. What inspired you to bring this concept in?
This one was all Sahil. “For us, it’s less about the technology itself and more about interactivity and performance. We are a “cocktail theatre,” and what’s a show without a bit of audience participation?” he asked. He explained how the AI prompt turns the guest from a spectator into a creator: “They’re not just drinking a cocktail. They’re drinking their story. It becomes a personal, memorable experience.”
The Final Takeaway
Potions – Cocktail Theatre isn’t your typical night out. It’s dramatic, emotional, and immersive. It’s beautifully over the top in the best way possible. Sunny describes it perfectly, “It’s spicy, it’s saucy, and it’s meant to be a place where people can truly let go and enjoy themselves.” And Sahil sees this as only the beginning, a new stage for India’s brightest mixology talent.
If you’re looking for a Delhi nightlife experience that breaks all the rules, Potions by Sunny Leone and Sahil Baweja is the place to be.
