CT Review: Mumbai’s T24 Retro Has Cutting Cocktails! Like Chai, It’s Full Vibe In Half Glass!

If you are a Mumbaikar who loves their cutting chai, you are going to relate to this. I recently visited T24 Retro by T24 Hospitality for their newly launched cocktail concept. Restaurants near Mumbai airport will usually burn a hole in your pocket, but T24 Retro has something interesting and quirky. It is offering something refreshing, affordable, and genuinely memorable. The star of my visit? Their brand-new concept: Cutting Cocktails.

A Retro Escape With ‘Cutting Cocktails’ At T24 Retro In Mumbai

Inspired by Mumbai’s beloved “cutting chai,” this idea reimagines cocktails into small, tester-sized portions. It’s a first-of-its-kind concept. Think of it as a boozy tasting flight but with that unmistakable Mumbai personality. I tried the SoBo Sangria, Purani Fashioned, and Mandarin Mule. Each one delivered a distinct profile without overwhelming the senses. Perfect for someone like me who always wants to try multiple drinks but never wants to commit to just one. Their shooters, Spicy Guava and Colaba Crush, were unapologetically bold and fun. Also, your cocktails will be served from a curated wheel cart with a mixologist ready to craft your perfect blend.

Food-wise, the small plates were a complete flavour fest. The Crispy Lotus Stem had that ideal sweet-spicy crunch, while the Lamb Vol-au-vent brought in rich, buttery notes that instantly made it a favourite. The Dynamite Shrimp lived up to its name with its zesty kick, and the Chicken Dimsums were melt-in-the-mouth soft. What I loved most was that portions are intentionally small, encouraging you to try more dishes without feeling stuffed.

Courtyard Vibes That Make You Want To Stay A Little Longer

Cutting cocktails are served in a charming courtyard, which deserves applause. Picture soft music swaying through the air, fairy lights glowing just enough, and the whole ambience has a laid-back charm that makes you want to linger longer. The courtyard can accommodate around 35 people easily.

Right next to it sits Blend, the hotel’s main restaurant, carrying a nostalgic American diner feel. It’s the kind of place where the décor instantly transports you back in time. From this menu, we tried their Thai Chicken Cigars, which were the unexpected hero. Subtle flavours, delicate crunch, and a surprisingly satisfying finish. Also, their Margherita Pizza deserves a mention. A perfectly balanced base that wasn’t too thick or too thin, topped with just the right amount of cheese and basil.

Between the ambience, the food, the affordability, and this cool new cutting cocktail concept, T24 Retro manages to create that rare “come for the cocktails, stay for the food” vibe. I genuinely enjoyed my time there, and I can see myself returning whenever I get the chance. Sometimes, the best experiences are the ones that blend comfort with creativity, and this spot does exactly that.

So next time you wish to experience an intimate, speakeasy-style escape near the Mumbai airport, that doesn’t burn a hole in your wallet, then T24 Retro is the place for you.
