Our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, enjoyed a lavish Andhra brunch with entrepreneur and philanthropist Upasana Konidela at the iconic Konidela home in Hyderabad recently. Upasana is a force to be reckoned with in the business world, and over the elaborate meal, she also highlighted the importance of women’s health and how they need to prioritise themselves.
Upasana Konidela Feels Women Need To Prioritise Themselves
From leading Apollo Hospitals CSR Group as Vice Chairperson to establishing URLife and Athamma’s Kitchen, Upasana Konidela is a true powerhouse! She is also a philanthropist and a strong advocate for women’s health. During a fan call, she was asked where women’s health is headed in our country.
“People like you and me need to tell more women to prioritise themselves. The minute we prioritise ourselves, our health takes the forefront. Once our health takes the forefront, then women’s health will definitely improve. Also, financial independence has a direct correlation with how women’s health will improve. So, that’s happening right now,” Upasana shared.
She further added, “Let me give you a statistic that more women in the workforce are now requesting mental health help at the workplace. This is double the amount of what men are asking for, in terms of mental well-being coaching. Mental health is now becoming a centre of excellence, and it is becoming a priority for people.”

A True Test Of Love
We even spoke to Upasana Konidela about her love story with superstar Ram Charan, and she shared a cute anecdote from their dating time. “I said if you really love me, I need you to take me to Famous Ice Cream, and the shop is in the middle of a market, and he was a star by then, and anybody would recognise him. So, he said: Okay! We went there, we ordered ice cream on the date, and we had people banging on our doors after that, which was a true test of his love, and he passed with flying colours,” she shared.
