There is a very famous story behind the Karmanghat Hanuman Temple. The temple dates back to the 12th century during the reign of the Kakatiya king Prataparudra II. It is said that legend has it that while passing through the forest, the king heard divine chants of “Ram” and discovered a swayambhu idol of Lord Hanuman at the site. What makes the temple especially important is its link to resilience and protection. It is said that during an attempted invasion by Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, soldiers were unable to demolish the shrine. A divine voice reportedly declared “Karo Man Ghat” (make your heart strong), which is believed to have inspired the temple’s name.
