Notably, a similar force was deployed at the hill stations of Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar near Mumbai. These places are quite famous among tourists. Initiative To Help Manage Overcrowding

As per the same report, the state tourism minister also stated that these security forces have performed “exceptionally well over the last three months.” Taking inspiration from this success, they have now decided to launch the same initiative in Mumbai.

The initiative was discussed during a review meeting attended by district officials, police officers, and public works engineers. Representatives from the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation were also present at the meeting. According to tourism minister Shambhuraj Desai, this tourism security force will ensure visitor safety, maintain smooth traffic flow, curb rash driving, and also resolve disputes which sometimes occur between tourists.
