Andhra Pradesh’s Kanaka Durga Temple To Launch Online Darshan Booking; Here’s How To Book

Kanaka Durga Temple in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, has made an important announcement. The temple is planning to introduce online darshan services after seeing a huge turnout of devotees during the Bhavani Deeksha 2025 festival. This new digital service is expected to make temple visits smoother and easier for thousands of devotees. Here is how to book darshan and other key details.

Online Darshan Booking To Begin Soon At Kanaka Durga Temple

Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam, popularly known as Kanaka Durga Temple in Andhra Pradesh, is one of the most revered temples for Hindus. According to a report by News18, the temple authorities have decided to roll out online services to make visits more convenient. Devotees will soon be able to book darshan slots, sevas, and other temple services without standing in long queues. Reportedly, the temple management has modelled this system on the successful online services of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).

Apart from booking seva slots, devotees will also be able to purchase prasadam, arrange parking, and make donations online. These services will be accessible through the official website, kanakadurgamma.org, and via the Kanakadurgamma Temple or Mana Mitra mobile applications. Some features of this digital service were tested during Bhavani Deeksha 2025. These included real-time updates on darshan timings during the celebrations.

Why The Temple Decided To Go Digital

According to a report by The Financial Express, there is a strong reason behind the move to introduce online services. The temple has been witnessing a steady rise in footfall, with around 15,000 devotees visiting on normal days and nearly 30,000 to 50,000 during festivals.

Most devotees arrive without prior bookings and end up waiting for hours in long queues. This often leads to overcrowding at the temple. With the digital system in place, crowd movement is expected to be managed more smoothly.

How To Book Online Darshan:

According to News18, devotees are advised to book a darshan at least two days in advance of their visit. Here is a step-by-step guide to help you book online:

  • Visit kanakadurgamma.org or aptemple.org.
  • Sign in and create an account.
  • Go to the ‘Online Booking’ or ‘Sevas and Darshanam’ section.
  • Choose the seva type and your preferred date and time slot.
  • Enter the required details, including name, phone number, and valid ID proof.
  • Confirm the booking and proceed with payment.
  • You will receive an e-ticket via email or SMS. Carry a hard copy along with the original ID proof during your visit.
