Travel vlogger Alma Asinobi, who attempted to break the record for the fastest journey across all seven continents, recently shared hotel tips from her personal experience that many of us are unaware of. Having stayed in over 100 hotels, she revealed one of her key observations: the corner rooms in hotels are often larger than other rooms in the same category yet are typically priced the same. It is a small but valuable detail that many guests miss, but seasoned travellers know how to use to their advantage.

Taking to her X (formerly Twitter) account, she wrote, “I’ve stayed at 100+ hotels. Here are a few random things you may not know:
Corner rooms are often bigger than others for the same price. You can ask at check-in for a corner room to get a bit more space (and usually more light because of more windows).”

The vlogger also further recommended simply requesting a corner room at check-in; while the availability is not guaranteed, the front desk staff may grant the request without any additional charge if rooms are open.

In many hotels, corner rooms tend to be slightly larger due to the building’s architectural design. Located at the ends of corridors, they often feature two exterior-facing walls instead of one. This layout can create extra usable floor space and, in many cases, additional windows.
