After all, China Southern Airlines announced on Saturday, September 12th, that it will be resuming regular passenger service on the Guangzhou-New Delhi route.

China Southern Airlines To Restart Flights On Guangzhou-New Delhi Route

In a report by the Deccan Chronicle, which quoted Global Times, it was mentioned that China Southern Airlines announced it will be resuming regular passenger service on the Guangzhou-New Delhi route from September 21st. The move aims to relaunch the airline’s India service after a suspension of six years. After this resumption, the airline will operate over a hundred weekly flights across eight round-trip routes in South Asia.

Recently Several Other Routes Were Restarted

The development comes months after direct air connectivity between India and China was boosted after Air China resumed its Beijing-Delhi service. On March 30th, IndiGo also began its daily non-stop flights between Kolkata and Shanghai. This airline had previously also resumed flights from Kolkata to Guangzhou, and later launched its services from Delhi.

For those who are not aware, the BRICS summit is currently underway in New Delhi, and the Chinese President Xi Jinping is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the Indian Prime Minister on Saturday.
