Delhi will soon be home to India’s first fully operational Ring Metro. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate two metro corridors and lay the foundation stone for three new corridors in the capital. The corridor on the Pink Line will now be turned into a Ring Metro Line. Here’s what this means.
Ring Metro In Delhi Coming Soon
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two Delhi Metro corridors on March 8: Majlis Park to Maujpur-Babarpur on the Pink Line and Deepali Chowk to Majlis Park on the Magenta Line. Not just that, the PM will also lay the foundation stone for three new corridors under Delhi Metro Phase V(A). According to a report by The Times of India, the Majlis Park to Maujpur-Babarpur section is 12.3 km long. It includes eight elevated stations.
This corridor is a part of the Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar Pink Line. With the addition of this new section, the total length of the line will increase to 71.5 km, making Delhi home to India’s first fully operational Ring Metro. Stations on this corridor will include:
- Majlis Park
- Burari
- Jharoda Majra
- Jagatpur-Wazirabad
- Soorghat
- Nanaksar-Sonia Vihar
- Khajuri Khas
- Bhajanpura
- Yamuna Vihar
- Maujpur-Babarpur

New Corridors To Make Delhi Metro Commute Easier
With these new corridors on the Delhi Metro, it is clear that commuting in the city is all set to get easier, faster and smoother. According to The Times of India, the Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park corridor is a part of the Magenta Line. It has a length of 9.92 km and includes seven elevated stations. This corridor is an extension of the Botanical Garden-Krishna Park Extension line. With this addition, the line’s total length will reach about 49 km. Stations on this section will include:
- Deepali Chowk
- Madhuban Chowk
- Uttar Pitampura-Prashant Vihar
- Haiderpur Village
- Haiderpur Badli Mor
- Bhalswa
- Majlis Park
The three new corridors under Delhi Metro Phase V(A) include: Central Vista Corridor from Ramakrishna Ashram Marg to Indraprastha, Golden Line extension from Aerocity to Indira Gandhi Airport Terminal 1 and Golden Line extension from Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj. All these projects are expected to benefit cities across the National Capital Region (NCR) significantly.
