Hussainiwala Railway Station in Punjab is one such station where trains run only twice a year on selected occasions. Its unusual schedule has left many people unaware of its significance. A social media creator, Inderjit Singh (@_northern_vlogger) took to his social media to share this rare information with his viewers, where he talked about the Hussainiwala Railway Station. In the video, the creator showed the station and the train seen behind him and stated that the train comes to this station only twice a year. Located between Ferozepur and the Hussainiwala border in Punjab, the station acts as the last point on the route with no train route beyond it.

What’s The Reason Behind It?

The creator also explained the reason behind the unique service. He said that he arrived on this very train from Ferozepur Cantonment. He informed that the train only operates twice a year, only on two specific days. One such day is March 23, which is observed as the martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh. On this day, visitors travel from different parts of the country to Hussainiwala. The second day when the train is functioning is April 13, on the day of Vaisakhi.

He also explained how the station marks the physical end of the railway track. The train arrives and departs along the same route, as the tracks end there completely.

More About Hussainiwala Railway Station

As per a report by Money Control, located in the Firozpur district of Punjab, Hussainiwala was once considered an important rail link before the pre-partition era. Built in 1885, the railway station served as an important route connecting India to cities like Lahore and Peshawar. In the past, military movement, daily travel, and trade relied on this railway line. Today, the railway station is just standing there in silence, with train movement only twice a year.
