These airlines have urged customers to check their flight status before making their way to the airport. Here’s more on this.

Flights Suspended At Dubai International Airport

According to NDTV, a fire broke out near Dubai International Airport on March 16, 2026, after a drone-related incident in the area. This led to a temporary suspension of all flights at the airport as a precautionary safety measure. People were also advised not to go to the airport. All flights were diverted to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) amid ongoing operational disruptions.

After the Dubai airport closure, Air India and Air India Express had to cancel all flights to and from Dubai for March 16, 2026. Passengers who had their tickets booked were given the flexibility to either rebook for a future travel date or cancel their ticket and receive a full refund.

However, Air India Express’ ad-hoc flight operations to and from Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah will continue as announced. Air India has advised its customers to reach out to its helpline numbers for any queries.
