The airport will also boost Odisha’s tourism economy and encourage hospitality growth.
3. Kota Greenfield Airport, Rajasthan
India’s education hub, Kota, is also set to get its long-awaited stronger air connectivity. The upcoming Kota Greenfield Airport is expected to open between 2026 and 2027 and will feature a runway of approximately 3,200 meters. The airport will reduce reliance on Jaipur and Udaipur airports, making travel easier for students as well as families.
4. Sonpur Greenfield Airport, Bihar
This airport, which is approved for development near Sonpur, is expected to open around 2030. It is designed to ease pressure on Patna Airport, which faces a lot of space and operational limitations. The airport is set to expand passenger capacity, enable larger aircraft operations and improve connectivity across Bihar.

Bhogapuram International Airport is located near Visakhapatnam and is expected to open in 2026. The airport will reduce dependency on existing regional facilities and provide direct international connections. The airport is set to enhance coastal tourism and support export industries across Andhra Pradesh.
