India’s First Bullet Train Update: Stations On Mumbai-Ahmedabad Corridor Nearing Completion

In a significant development, the Ministry of Railways recently informed on its official X handle that the construction of bullet train stations in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor is nearly complete. This project promises to redefine passenger comfort and set a new benchmark in travel. Here’s what we know. 

India’s First Bullet Train Service To Begin Soon

Good news! India’s first bullet train service will start operating soon. It will cut the travel time between Mumbai and Ahmedabad to just two hours and seven minutes. According to the Ministry of Railways’ post on X, the bullet train stations along the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor are nearing completion. Sharing the update on their official account, the ministry wrote, “The #BulletTrain stations on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor in Gujarat are nearing completion. With modern design, cultural identity, seamless connectivity and eco-friendly features, the stations will redefine passenger comfort and set new benchmarks in travel.”

According to the Ministry of Railways, the stations on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) Corridor will feature modern designs, seamless connectivity, and eco-friendly elements. As per the statement, these new bullet train stations will significantly upgrade passenger comfort.

Stations On The Corridor

As per a report by Live Mint, there are 12 stations on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor. These include: Mumbai (Bandra-Kurla Complex), Thane, Virar, Boisar, Vapi, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, and Sabarmati. Four of the stations are in Maharashtra, while eight are in Gujarat.

The entire journey will be completed in about two hours and seven minutes. The project spans a total of 508 km, with 348 km in Gujarat, 156 km in Maharashtra, and 4 km passing through the Dadra & Nagar Haveli Union Territory. While the inauguration date has not been revealed yet, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has said that the service is expected to commence very soon.
