Imagine it’s a random evening in Thane. You’ve had a long day, and you want to step out, but not to a mall or a regular garden, but somewhere different. What if I told you that without leaving Thane, you could take a quiet walk in Japan? Located inside NaMo Grand Central Park on Kolshet Road, this Japanese-themed garden offers a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Inside NaMo Grand Central Park’s Japanese Garden In Thane

One of Thane’s most carefully planned public areas, NaMo Grand Central Park spans 20.5 acres. It was created by the Thane Municipal Corporation with funding from the Kalpataru Group and opened in February 2024. There is a 400-metre jogging track for runners, a large 3-acre lake with a manicured walkway, a bridge, an open gym, kid-friendly play areas, yoga and meditation areas, and much more.

However, the Japanese-themed garden is the park’s most charming feature. As soon as you enter this area, you feel as though you are in a Japanese garden in Kyoto. The gorgeous red arched bridge catches your eye right away and makes you feel as though you’re in a traditional Japanese garden.

As you continue, bamboo walkways will gently guide you. Spirituality, balance, and water are essential elements of Japanese gardens. There are also peaceful water features here, which contribute to the calm ambiance. Certain corners have a bonsai-like feel, and there are small landscaped areas that seem delicate. If you enjoy spending quiet evenings or sitting by yourself with your thoughts, this is the place for you.

Tour Around The World In One Park

What makes this park even more interesting is that the Japanese garden is just one part of it. There are four themed parks inside: the Mughal garden, the Chinese park, the Moroccan-inspired park, and the Japanese garden. It’s like taking mini trips around the world, all within one evening.

Because sometimes, you don’t need a big vacation. You just need a different view to take deep breaths, listen to birds, and feel calm. And this park gives you exactly that.

So next time you’re bored on a random evening in Thane, take a walk around Japan.
