The New Year often comes with fresh resolutions, promises to travel more, do more, and try new things! For our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, however, the New Year was about slowing down, switching off, and being present with those who matter most – her family. To mark her first getaway of the year, she chose the timeless charm of Udaipur. The highlight of the trip lay in quiet moments, unhurried mornings, and making memories with loved ones.
Inside Kamiya Jani’s New Year Getaway To Udaipur
Our Chief Travelling Officer, Kamiya Jani, rang in the New Year amidst the Aravalli Hills, in the heart of Udaipur, with her family, marking the perfect start to 2026. With no rush, no phones, and no distractions, it was all about spending time with the people she cherishes most, doing what she loves best–exploring new places, embracing new experiences, and relishing delicious food.
The best trips aren’t about places, they’re about who you share them with–with these pearls of wisdom, she spent quality time in the lap of nature with her parents, husband, daughter, and other family members. The setting was a modern-day palace steeped in vintage charm, the Fairmont Udaipur Palace. Her room was nothing short of regal, fit for queens of another era, and this modern-day queen couldn’t get enough of the maharani vibes it offered.
Think sprawling rooms, a bathroom you’d happily soak in all day, a huge pool, a private balcony opening out to unparalleled hill views, and a large seating area where the entire family can gather and dine together—what more could you ask for?

When Luxury Wasn’t About The Stay, But About Time With Loved Ones
Beyond the indulgent comforts, Kamiya discovered another true luxury during her Udaipur getaway—uninterrupted time with family and loved ones. To make the moments even more special, the team at Fairmont Udaipur Palace arranged an elaborate breakfast spread inside a serene bamboo forest, allowing the family to soak in the calm of nature. Between fresh sandwiches, egg bhurji, pastries, and family photographs, the time was spent unwinding the way holidays are meant to be enjoyed—slowly and joyfully.
The family spent leisurely hours by the pool, playing cards and board games, with delicious picnic meals adding the perfect finishing touch. And in Udaipur, feeling like royalty is a must, so a traditional carriage awaited Kamiya & Co. Surrounded by vintage charm and classic Rajasthani flair, they enjoyed a scenic ride around the property, setting the tone for yet another memorable evening.
The fun didn’t stop there, with pickleball matches and plenty of other games following—because that’s exactly how big family vacations with energetic kids are meant to be enjoyed.
The trip also marked Kamiya’s wedding anniversary, and in true Rajasthani style, the celebrations at Fairmont Udaipur Palace were nothing short of spectacular. From a lavish Rajasthani thali to folk dancers and live music playing in the background, the warm hospitality set the perfect tone for a memorable celebration.
