Landslide Claims 30 Lives
As per News18, a devastating landslide occurred on the yatra trek on Tuesday. It claimed the lives of over 30 people and left 20 devotees injured. The disaster struck around 3 pm when heavy rains triggered a landslide near Inderprastha Bhojnalaya at Adhkuwari, which lies halfway along the 12 km trek from Katra to the holy cave at the Trikuta hills.
Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, who is also the chairman of SMVDSB, stated that the yatra was halted temporarily. Moreover, a high-level three-member committee has been set up to investigate the causes of the landslide.
Authorities have confirmed that services will remain shut until the weather improves and the path is once again safe for devotees. Until then, you can follow the above-mentioned steps to claim a refund on your bookings.
