Skipper Visits Hanuman Temple After India’s T20 World Cup Win
On March 8, India made history and bagged their third T20 World Cup title, becoming the first cricket team to do so. After their commanding 96-run victory over New Zealand in the final, head coach Gautam Gambhir, captain Surya Kumar Yadav, and ICC head Jay Shah, visited the Hanuman Temple in Ahmedabad to offer prayers.
They visited Hanuman Tekri Temple after the big T20 World Cup win. The small but well-known Hanuman temple, according to The Economic Times, is located in the Motera area of Ahmedabad, right next to Narendra Modi Stadium. In fact, it almost sits within the stadium complex. The skipper was carrying the trophy inside the temple as well as he offered prayers there.

All About Hanuman Tekri Temple In Ahmedabad
The Hanuman Tekri Temple is probably one of the first things many cricket fans notice while entering Narendra Modi Stadium. While the exact date of the temple’s origin is not known, the old Hanuman shrine has been a part of the Motera area in Ahmedabad long before the stadium complex developed around it, the Economic Times reported. The idol at the temple represents Lord Hanuman’s Bal Swaroop (child form), which devotees believe to be spiritually powerful.
Many devotees believe that praying here brings strength, protection, and success, which is why visitors often stop by before entering the stadium. Today, the temple remains a symbolic blend of faith and cricket culture in the area, drawing both devotees and cricket fans alike.
